I needed something in the Biscuit tin and this recipe for Cornish Fairings should give you about 15 biscuits. 

*100g Caster Sugar

*100g Softened Butter

*2 Tbsp Golden Syrup

*175g Self Raising Flour

*1 tsp Ground Ginger 

*1/2 tsp Cinnamon 

*1/2 tsp Bicarbonate Soda 

Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees, or Gas mark 4. Line 2 baking trays with baking parchment, it makes taking them off a whole lot easier

Over a pan in a glass bowl melt the golden syrup sugar and butter together, stir continuously.

Into this sift the flour, spices and bicarb. Mix until it forma a smooth dough. 

Roll into small balls and spread apart on the baking trays.

Any mixture not used can be kept in the fridge for a couple of days. 

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. 

Leave to cool on a wire rack.
